my daughter-in-law feeds every damn bird in a preserve and the birds won't eat at the feeder!

Please picture Sue saying this to the woman at Oakland Nurseries when she returned my birthday present.

Sue and Doug bought me a gorgeous feeder for my birthday in June - the birds wouldn't eat from it - really. I didn't get the opportunity to hear this story directly from Sue, I'm sure it would have been great, but Patty's version was quite animated.

Sorry, Mom... the feeder really was perfect. You got me thinking though - I tried the same food with a (significantly) cheaper feeder from Lowe's and the flying pigs returned.


I think they've gotten used to their little buffet at the edge of the Preserve - the traffic is slower on the deck, but at least there are some takers. This feeder probably won't last long - maybe we can try again?
