the marquee says it all...

Except for having to pass through Ann Arbor on the way, Todd and I loved Grand Haven... what a fantastic place for a wedding weekend! The bride and groom's entourages stayed at separate b&b's - Sean's crew was at the Boyden House. Todd and I had the Caberet Suite which was very cozy, relaxing and romantic (all pretty great things) - only made better by it being just a few blocks from the water. The walk to the actual beach, however, was a bit longer but very worth it since we stumbled across Sue, Doug & Kristen! Just in case you are counting: my birthday was celebrated for a 3rd weekend - Kristen gave me some love in the form of a hug and a gorgeous necklace from the Young Designers Market in NYC. This sister of mine is pretty fabulous.


After hitching a ride back with the family so that we could be ready in time, off to the rehearsal we went. Garrett brought Thais (for those that need a lesson... it is pronounced ty-eece). We were happy to keep each other company while the boys did their thing. After dinner, Sean and Melissa gave gifts to their attendants. Out of all the thoughtful and very nice things Sean bought the guys, they were instantly enamored with packs of baseball cards circa 1987. Todd's even had the original gum - not too much fighting over that though!


Sean & Melissa parted ways and we headed to the b&b for a quick change of clothes before walking for a night cap at The Theatre Bar. I seriously contemplated editing the photo below, but chose to keep the integrity of the candid and the lack there of with the leatherish diva in the background. Ignoring her, you have a fine photo of two men that are simply my favorites. Melissa and I are extremely lucky. When we left the bar, the marquee was lit - Congrats!


I may have been channeling desperate housewives living in Stepford, but I am still very in love with this ensemble (Kristen included... not shown: patent leather yellow sandals).

Doug apparently just posed me with the other members of the family! Love the mom...

... and the husband! Please note the overly sunned shoulder from my blissful pre-reception jaunt at The Kirby with Kristen and Thais. Lesson learned: cool breeze + sun + cocktails + patio + evening = sunburn on one side of the jamie.

It was a great weekend full of friends, family and memories. I'm pretty sure that Mr. Bernie Clarke proposed to me over a shoulder rub after breakfast on Sunday, but that is for the guests at the Boyden house to know for sure.

Congratulations, Sean & Melissa! We love you both and look forward to many more great times in the future - maybe even some NOT at weddings...
