family, fishing and fireworks...

With the 4th of July on a Friday, I started working on Dad early with requests for fireworks viewing a la Lake Erie. This is the second year for the Last Cast II and we felt it deserved to host a little soirée on the lake for the holiday. Todd and Dad have a mutual obsession for the GPS on the boat - it really is amazing... we could see every path Dad had taken out to the Lake using the system. We could also see LOTS of fish (little pictures of goldfish) that they weren't able to catch.

Sue and Doug joined the festivities... everyone even got fishing licenses so they could spend the pre-fireworks time trying to catch dinner. Here is Sue resting after her (fishless) efforts. They caught a few white perch - it was a good thing we had enough food for the weekend! I wish you could have seen her dance party efforts later in the evening - fellow boaters loved the show.

Unfortunately, this quasi-frightening self-portrait is the only photo of yours truly from the evening...

Buoy even joined us! We thought he would enjoy some Lake Time instead of staying behind... It was a gorgeous evening and never got too hot - he seemed like a very pleased pup. Mom and Doug were just trying to ignore the crazed woman on a nearby boat trying (that being the key word - TRYING) to sing the Frankie Valli song Sherry - it sounded like an animal was dying. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry bayaybeeee, Sherry baby!

What a great night - we saw fireworks from Cedar Point, Put-in-Bay, Catawba and more - all in addition to the front row seats we had for the Port Clinton show.

Doug - look over there, oops, you missed it - wait, look over there! Good times.

Completely in love with my family and missing Kristen,
jamie.
