We had big plans to rip out the old carpet on the stairs and replace it with stained/painted steps. Dad figured out pretty quickly that the stairs had been made off-site during construction and were one (very large) piece. Rather than ask him to build new steps, we opted to replace the carpet. Buoy was already a very soft dog, but Todd made sure that if anyone did step on him, he was prepared!
