weddings and swap meets and buckeyes oh my...

It's been a long time since Todd and I haven't been in Port Clinton for Labor Day... Lindsey and Bob set the date and we didn't need any better excuse to be Columbus-bound instead. They got married at the new Audubon Center and it couldn't have been more perfect setting for their wedding - great friends, wonderful food, a bourbon-based signature cocktail and birds!

Bob is a dapper young fellow, but my attention was all on Lindsey - she was stunning and I'm still coveting her necklace...

Speaking of dapper young fellows... I hadn't been surrounded by this trio in far too many years - Rocky, Chad and Barna! Mike was there too - he was probably stalking the photo booth during this shot. For those that know the culprit for me being introduced to these folks, I hope you can understand why I'm still thankful I met her.

Without that meeting, I never would have met any of them... not even this beautiful little number...

I bet the center's security footage was entertaining the next day - we couldn't get enough of the bird sculptures. Todd's in love.

Me too.

While Todd and I make some pretty fierce couples with the statues, the real couple of the evening put the scenery to shame.

Erin gave us an invite to the Johnstown Swapper's Day... does that sound like something you could pass up? Didn't think so. Sue and Doug joined us and, before they knew it, they were on a hay ride from the parking lot to the gates of the swap meet.

I lost the group at one point because I was totally enamored with this llama. LLAMA FACE!

We did manage to meet up again... just in time for the coon dog races. Not kidding. Todd made sure Erin's log was safe during the action.

We went home with a log too... a little john deere yellow spray paint later and we had a winner!

Really didn't think the weekend could get any better... that was until Sue unveiled the bumper crop of buckeye prime for the taking in their backyard.

To demonstrate the awesomeness...
