here's to it and from it and to it again...

Todd and I celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary in February of 2010; however, a lovely couple named Patty & Jim had 37 years on us... we couldn't think of a better place to treat them to a celebratory weekend than Peek'n Peak!

We all know Dad has seen the slopes in the last 15 years, but it seems the Columbia jumpsuit he wanted to wear has not! Somehow, he pulled the black/teal/purple number off without flinching - probably because the man skis like butter. It didn't stop me from reminding him that the last time that suit saw a slope was the first ski season that I was able to drive myself to Snow Trails.

We checked in and soon headed to the Tavern ordered enough food for the entire bar (with no plans to share) and some frosty beverages. I love this guy...

I also love these two... this is during Mom's first glass of Amber Bock from the half-pitcher she and I shared.

Surely another glass or two in, she's warmed up, dropped the fleece and loving up to her handsome husband of FORTY years.

I think this is the point where Mom gave our waitress the green light for another half-pitcher of Amber Bock... for just she and I. I guess two half-pitchers are for women not willing to admit they can polish off their own pitcher in one sitting.

I think the volume from our table had increased... we were trying to take photos when a friendly OSU fan from the neighboring table offered to take one of all of us. I remember being really confused because he said, "Wow, two of you are seriously better looking than the others..." - with the lookers in this bunch, I didn't really want to know where I ranked!

Yep, we're well into the second (half) pitcher at this point. Check out these two... I'm pretty sure that last frame came with a "Jamie Patricia!".

This was slightly staged, I'll admit; however, it does serve as proof that you shouldn't ever dare Patty to do something if you don't want her to take immediate action.

All of that Amber Bock and bar food sent Patty right back to the 70's and she broke out a vintage toast... enjoy. I just did a quick internet search to see if this is a legitimate toast - there goes 10 minutes laughing at many bawdy toasts. If only my memory would hold out when the beverages flow.

Somehow, the evening entertainment continued beyond Mom's toasts at the Tavern... some more upscale drinks and a live band at the Regency Pub. This face sums up Dad watching guitars and his wife during this trip.

I didn't think my father could be more charming, lovable and attractive until he sported the wedding band my mom gave him on their actual anniversary (2/14/10). He stopped wearing his band regularly years ago because of work and then a clever thief thought they would make it their own. He's aged well and we are so very thankful to be graced with the company of two awesome people that are still seriously in love. I can only hope that Todd will prove to be as patient.

the snowsuit hung in there much better than the boots,
jamie.
